From what I understand (as a Sigma 35mm 1.2 user myself) from the photos, this 1.4 is actually a Sony 35mm f/1.8 competitor, not holding a candle to the 35mm 1.4 GM. Disappointing, considering how the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN was clearly sharper and quite smaller than the current Sony 85mm f/1.4 GM.
Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 STM. bigger. 9 rounded blades. Electronically actuated. Stops down to f/22. Focal Length. 35mm. When used with an APS-C crop, it sees the same angle of view as a 55mm lens sees when used on a full-frame or 35mm camera. See also Crop Factor. Angles of View on Full Frame. 63º diagonal. 54º horizontal. 38º vertical. Autofocus Tweet. Canon's new EF-S 35mm F2.8 IS STM Macro comes in at a reasonable $349 MSRP, and offers 1:1 magnification (very close to the front of the lens, admittedly), a claimed four stops of image stabilization and the stepper motor should work great for when you switch from stills to video. We've sampled it for both macro and general photography
