Which surprised us and left us pondering that KTM’s 1090 Adventure R would be the choice for the most determined of off-road biased big-bore KTM adventure riders. As an adventure tourer, the 1290 is a supreme ride and will comfortably power through long, solid days in the saddle across all types of terrain, both dirt and tar.
Just like its little brother, the 890 Adventure, KTM has given the 1290 Super Adventure saddlebag-style fuel tanks that hang down either side of the bike. The resulting lower centre of gravity makes it feel superbly balanced, particularly at slow speeds, and there’s nothing top-heavy about it, even if you find yourself off balance. The 1290 Super Adventure R is the off-road brother to the S edition. Where you find road-worthy slicks on the S, the Super Adventure R wields knobby tires wrapped around wire-spoke rims for more grip when taking the long way home. The R is fitted with a shorty windscreen hiding the huge 7” TFT display. xig9a. 354 493 485 242 22 358 404 6 281
